Abstract
The changes that occur in today's society, as a result of globalization, neoliberalism, scientific and technological advances, have repercussions on higher education and constitute challenges for the university professor, who must have an axiological, pedagogical, didactic, technology and communication skills, which allow you to develop your role as a trainer effectively within the framework of quality and ethical and moral principles. The objective of this article is to support, from the references provided by the Educational Sciences, the particular sciences of the training careers and the development of information technology and communications, the study of the university professor as a model of improvement for the vocational training in the current educational and social context. The methodology used is the systematization and analysis of various sources of information, related to the essential nuclei of the subject under investigation. The findings denote the reality that characterizes higher education in today's world and the figure of the teacher as an agent of change and a model for future educators.
