The gender-focused education in the educational practice in Dominican Republic
La educación con enfoque de género en la práctica educativa en la República Dominicana
Abstract
Without a doubt, gender-focused education becomes an imperative for national and international institutions and organizations in charge of these training actions. In this sense, legal bases in the Dominican Republic that declare gender equality are focused on. However, practice indicates the need to delve into the representations of the subject in teachers around their professional performance and calls for the search for their theoretical references to intervene. In this direction, this article aims to socialize the intervention proposal of a pedagogical strategy aimed at promoting the gender approach in educational institutions in the Dominican Republic from the preparation of teachers. From a qualitative approach, essential references are systematized and the problem is verified in practice from interviews, surveys and observations, which offered pertinent information to structure the stages and actions, in order to favor changes in educational institutions, which will help to identify and overcome sexist education, promote equitable links between subjects in the school, family and social context. Core perception in teacher training contributed to professional performance consistent with significant transformations.
