The teaching-learning process of the Mathematics discipline in Basic Secondary Education. Its characterization
El proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la disciplina Matemática en la Educación Secundaria Básica. Su caracterización
Abstract
The teaching-learning process (PEA) of mathematics is a subject that has been investigated by various specialists, such as psychologists, pedagogues and didactics at national and international level, and has provided valuable contributions to the theoretical-methodological foundation of this process. In spite of the efforts made, the levels to which we aspire have not been achieved. This article presents a characterization of the Mathematics PEA in Basic Secondary Education at the national level. The objective is to propose actions that contribute to the PEA of Mathematics in correspondence with the general conception of this discipline in the Third Improvement of the National Education System. Theoretical, empirical and statistical scientific methods were applied through the review of articles in high impact journals, research and theoretical-methodological references related to mathematics. The main results of the exploratory study carried out in which some causes and incidence factors were identified are described. Based on the results obtained, a proposal for the operationalization of the variable was formulated, which was evaluated by experts as Fairly Adequate, and the results of the diagnosis are also presented, as well as some actions to contribute to its improvement.
