Google Académico: análisis de las métricas en el departamento Español-Literatura

Keywords: study, citations, academic impact

Abstract

Metric analysis is today a necessity for the impact evaluation of the academic contribution in the different contexts in which professionals from the various branches of knowledge influence. The accreditation processes of the different programs require the visibility of professionals as evidence of the impact of the contributions they make in the areas in which they affect. At this address, this article presents an analysis of the metrics provided by Google Scholar in the context of the Department of Spanish and Literature. Google Scholar Metrics, such as the h-index, the i10-index, and the number of citations, have become key tools for assessing academic impact and research visibility. In order to evaluate these indicators, data from publications and faculty profiles within the department were collected and analyzed for the period 2002-2023. The results revealed significant patterns in the metrics, providing a deeper understanding of the research impact and academic output of the department.
