Environmental sciences and their transdisciplinary linkage with the socioecosystem approach

Las ciencias ambientales y su vinculación transdisciplinaria con el enfoque de socioecosistema

Keywords: This research was developed with the aim of characterizing environmental sciences and the relevance of linking to the socioecosystem approach, in order to contribute to the understanding of the relationships between social and natural integrated systems in the context of global environmental deterioration and conceptual updating in the teaching of environmental disciplines at higher education. Using the analytical-synthetic method, they examined the sources of information and systematized the theoretical references of both concepts. It was shown that the environmental sciences show a holistic character, by their macro-inclusive, integrative, multifaceted reference frameworks, in addition to being synthetic, by articulating the conceptual and methodological syntheses of the disciplines that nourish them; so his mastery would be the intersection of the natural, social and human sciences. In the other hand, socioecosystem is considered as a unit of socioecological analysis, in all its forms of organization, which are expressed in the different economic systems and modes of thought, constituting a propitious scenario for the encounter of diverse disciplines of knowledge, and overcoming its reductionism to cement the construction of environmental sciences. This approach is characterized by a transdisciplinary epistemology, based on a systemic and complex vision, which integrates the categories: multi-scale, resilience, heterogeneity, selforganization, adaptation, non-linearity, vulnerability and non-predictability.
