Roots and contributions of Dulce María Escalona’s pedagogical thinking to Cuban education

Raíces y aportes del pensamiento pedagógico de Dulce María Escalona a la educación cubana

Abstract

This work focuses on the influence received by Dulce María Escalona in her interaction with teachers and friends as well as through her own studies, from the best of the pedagogical ideology of the time that preceded her and her own time, which contributed to the formation of her pedagogical thought, which she concretized in her work as an educator in different educational institutions in which through her influence and example she showed her conception of the comprehensive training of education professionals in charge of helping new generations achieve comprehensive development. The content of the work is associated with the results of research related to this topic presented at the III Colloquium on Pedagogical Thought organized at the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences in 2024 and developed by the History Rooms work group of the University Extension Directorate of this higher education center.
