Resumen

Se presenta una breve historia de la vida de la profesora Mercedes Pérez Andricaín (1949-1994), desde el inicio de sus estudios como docente, vinculada al Instituto Superior Pedagógico Enrique José Varona (ISPEJV), transitando por su actividad laboral hasta su muerte. Realiza su labor como jefa del Departamento de Televisión Educacional (TVE) en el Varona, donde se formó como realizadora audiovisual. Se hace un recorrido por su obra audiovisual y se destaca su actividad en el Movimiento Nacional de Video, así como en eventos internacionales como representante de las mujeres cubanas realizadoras de video. Se resalta su alto sentido del deber en el cumplimiento de la palabra empeñada, cualidad que le impide tener la adecuada percepción del riesgo que para su vida representaba su quebrantado estado de salud en los días previos al XXX Aniversario del Varona.

ABSTRACT

A brief history of the life of Professor Mercedes Pérez Andricaín (1949-1994) is presented, from the beginning of her studies as a teacher, going through her work activity until her death, all linked to the Enrique José Varona Higher Pedagogical Institute (ISPEJV). Her work as head of the Department of Educational Television (TVE) in Varona is highlighted, where she trained as an audiovisual producer, a tour of her audiovisual work is made and her activity in the National Video Movement is highlighted as well as in international events such as representative of Cuban women video makers. Of hers, hers highlights her high sense of duty in fulfilling her pledged word, a quality that prevents her from having the adequate perception of the risk that her broken state of health represented on her life in the days prior to the XXX Anniversary of Varona.
