El tratamiento estadístico en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la Geografía: dos ejemplos referidos al país natal
Resumen
Este artículo se deriva de la tarea de proyecto de investigación “Regionalización de grandes unidades geográficas del mundo para la educación cubana actual”, dirigida por el autor entre 2012 y 2015 en la Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas Enrique José Varona. Se ofrecen breves consideraciones sobre el dinamismo del mundo actual y su influencia y necesaria introducción estadística en el desarrollo del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la Geografía escolar y universitaria. Se tratan dos ejemplos referidos a Cuba sobre su extensión superficial: en el primero se demuestra cómo los libros de texto y otros materiales docentes editados en los últimos años utilizan cifras diferentes como oficiales sin citar las fuentes, provocando confusiones en el alumnado; en el segundo se presentan reflexiones en torno a la exagerada percepción de pequeñez geográfica atribuida a Cuba como isla y como país.

The statistical processing in the teaching-learning process of Geography: two examples about natal country
ABSTRACT
This article derives task of the research project “Regionalization of the best geographical units of the world for the present Cuban education” lead by the author between 2012 and 2015 in the Pedagogical Sciences University Enrique José Varona. Brief consideration about the dynamics the present world and it’s influence and necessary statistical introduction in the development teaching-learning process of the scholar and university geography is offered two examples regarding to Cuba and her surface extension are treated: on the first one it’s shawn how in the text’s book and other teaching materials published in the latest years use deferent’s figures as official ones without mentioning the sources, causing confusion in the students; on the second one shows reflection regarding to the exaggerated perception of the small geography of Cuba as an island and as a country.
