Radio in the Strengthening of Cuban Musical Identity: A Proposed Pedagogical Intervention
La radio en el fortalecimiento de la identidad musical cubana: propuesta de intervención pedagógica
Abstract
Identity is an aspect of extraordinary importance for human beings. Therefore, its strengthening is at the heart of the most diverse educational processes, and diverse resources are leveraged, among which radio broadcasting demonstrates significant potential. In this regard, the doctoral research shared in this article is oriented toward sharing the main results of the implementation of a theoretical-methodological concept for strengthening Cuban musical identity among the directors of Radio Cadena Habana, a station based in the capital. From a dialectical-materialist perspective, methods such as participant and open observation, surveys, interviews, expert judgment, and methodological triangulation were applied, in addition to techniques such as monitoring and the Group Satisfaction Test. Descriptive statistics enabled quantitative interpretation, which led to a qualitative assessment of the results, with the analysis of absolute and relative frequencies. The implementation of the intervention proposal contributed significantly to strengthening Cuban musical identity and revealed its potential in terms of functionality, generalization, participation, relevance, and novelty, with a level of acceptance, interest, and satisfaction among those involved in the study.
