Abstract

National identity is one of the values that most impacts a country's citizens. Recent studies, from an interdisciplinary perspective, focus on this approach and seek to offer it an increasingly coherent and contextualized approach. In this regard, this article presents the assessment of the results obtained from the implementation of the proposal: Educational Project for the Formation of National Identity through Mathematics in the Bachelor's Program in Basic Education at the Barahona Campus of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. Based on the systematization of previous studies, the following methods were also applied: inductive-deductive and hermeneutic-dialectical. The specialists' criteria and the results of the application of the phases educational project allowed us to positively assess the achievement of the objectives and the proposed scientific outcome as an eminently practical solution to the identified scientific problem. Unlike previous studies in the Dominican context, this approach takes into account the developing characteristics of didactics for the formation of regional cultural identity through the teaching-learning process of mathematics.
