Abstract

The issue of the quality of Higher Education and its evaluation, in the context of today's world, inevitably has an impact on the development of university curricula and profiles, being one of the variables of the quality standards of Higher Education in the world. world. This article aims to reflect on the relationship between research and quality of Higher Education in the Dominican Republic. In the methods, the analytical - synthetic method is used, for the study of the key concepts and their essences, the systematization to articulate the references of authors studied on the topic, as well as the review of documentary sources, for the information in documents referring to the topic. . The results are derived from general reflections on the research function and its relationship with the quality of education, the main strategies for research related to educational quality, research in education in Latin America and observations on its main characteristics or characteristics are presented. tendencies. The conclusions point to the need for the development of research as a strategy that leads to educational quality in the Higher Education Institutions (IES) of the Dominican Republic.
