Abstract
The teaching of the History of Cuba implies a transmission of knowledge from the past, from concepts that have value in the present. Without notions of historical time, relations of continuity would not be perceived in social changes, and the ability to perceive and understand the historical projection of social reality would not be developed, highlighting the need for order and logical nexus to know the historical process and its consequences. regularities. This research aims to systematize theoretical foundations that support the formation of the ability to organize historical facts with a professional approach in the context of primary teacher training. Three methods of the theoretical level of knowledge were used (historical-logical, analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive), documentary analysis and the exchange of opinions with professionals from other Cuban and foreign universities. The existence of deficiencies in the process under study is revealed, with a sequenced, systemic and contextualized nature, which contributes efficiently to the development of a historical thought. It shows the need for changes in the way of directing the process of training and development of professional skills in general and this one in particular, during the undergraduate degree, and expresses the need for pedagogical changes in the ways in which it is taught and learned. the History of Cuba in the training of primary teachers.
