Abstract

The historical and patrimonial values ​​of the town where the university campus of the governing center of pedagogical careers in Cuba, the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences, are located, with the objective of contributing to the formation, among the members of the community. university that occupies it, of identity values ​​with this town that housed the main military base in Cuba from the beginning of the first North American intervention, in November 1898, until its conversion into Ciudad Escolar Libertad, in September 1959. In this course, The town has accumulated more than a century of history, linked to transcendental moments of the nation, treasures the presence of prestigious personalities of Cuban history and culture as well as a rich cultural heritage, which has earned it its declaration as a National Monument. At present, it constitutes a scientific-methodological educational complex of national reference that has become the first Thematic-Pedagogical Park in the country.
