The principles of medical sciences: from the perspective of Advanced Education

Los principios de las ciencias médicas: desde la óptica de la Educación Avanzada

Keywords: educational theory, principles, education and training of professionals.

Abstract

The approach to the subject and its reality is carried out from a dialectical materialist perspective and with a qualitative approach. Appropriates the potential of research methods: systematization and documentary review of doctoral theses and articles by researchers from the scientific community. From the consultation of the specialized literature, it was possible to identify the authors and themes that reveal the importance of the principles of Advanced Education for the training and training of professionals. The Cuban conceptions of Advanced Education, reflected in the work of its main authors: Añorga (1995); González (1998) and Valcárcel (1999), among others, disagree with the positions taken by other researchers in the region, considering them elitist because their actions are directed only at university graduates, hence they broaden their field of research to all human resources. Advanced Education arises as part of the efforts to enrich Cuban pedagogy, and finds its premises in the pedagogical ideas of José Antonio Saco, Félix Varela, José de la Luz y Caballero, José Martí and in the ideas of Fidel Castro Ruz. The objective of this article is to establish a complementary relationship between the principles of medical sciences and the principles of this educational theory offered by Advanced Education.
