Didactic strategy for the improvement of the teaching-learning process of the discipline Translation

Abstract

This article shows the partial results of a doctoral research that is aimed at improving the teaching-learning process of the Translation discipline that is taught at the Faculty of Spanish for Non-Spanish Speakers of the University of Havana. This study becomes a requirement for the development of the modes of action of the foreign language professional and therefore is the foundation of a socially responsible management. For this reason, the design of a didactic strategy is proposed, based on the task-based approach, as a dynamic agent of a change in the translation training process, which determined assuming professional problems as a transversal axis and allowed the identification of the particularities of this process, as well as the foundations, principles and characteristics that regulate its operation. The starting point was a mixed approach in identifying the main deficiencies in the teaching of translation. As a general method, dialectical materialism was used with its guiding and strategic role in the investigation. The results obtained so far have allowed modeling a didactic strategy, which constitutes an important contribution to the improvement of the formative process under investigation and with it to the integral formation of the foreign language student.
