Abstract
The study of personalities constitutes an essential aspect in professional pedagogical training, although unfortunately, the approach to the legacy of many is still limited. In this sense, this article is oriented, whose objective is: to reveal the pedagogical work of Dr. C. Mercedes López López from 1964 to 2000, based on her contribution to the History of Education and Early Childhood Education, in the context of the Revolution. Through the documentary review and living testimony obtained in the exchange with colleagues, the historical memory of her participation in the main transformations of the National Education System at the educational level is reconstructed. Her actions as a researcher together with her work team in the Department of Management and Organization of the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences stand out. Important results are attributed to the Cuban pedagogical theory and practice in Early Childhood Education, a broad indisputable reference work, the search for innovative alternatives for educational quality, centered on the educator and the teaching-learning process, through their training. permanent and systematic. That is why she and even more she is considered the most distinguished scientist of Cuban pedagogy.
