The treatment of environmental education in the discipline Economic and Social Geography

Resumen

En las condiciones actuales del sistema educativo cubano, reconocer a la educación ambiental para el desarrollo sostenible como la principal medida de solución para abordar la compleja problemática ambiental desde el enfoque en las diferentes disciplinas docentes que integran el plan del proceso docente de la formación inicial de profesores, es muy importante para la preparación de los estudiantes, sin embargo, este proceso manifiesta deficiencias en el tratamiento en la disciplina Geografía Económica y Social. Teniendo en cuenta los criterios anteriores, el objetivo de la investigación se centra en: Elaborar una concepción para el tratamiento didáctico del proceso de educación ambiental para el desarrollo sostenible en la disciplina Geografía Económica y Social en la carrera Licenciatura en Educación: Geografía. Se ofrecen como resultados: el análisis de los fundamentos teóricos relacionados con el tratamiento del proceso de educación ambiental para el desarrollo sostenible en esta disciplina, los resultados del diagnóstico de cómo es dicho tratamiento en la carrera Geografía, de la Universidad de Pinar del Río, la sistematización que se hace para llegar a exponer los elementos a tener en cuenta para el tratamiento y los fundamentos, así como para definir las categorías, principios y características de la concepción, que se concretan en las tres etapas y catorce acciones de la estrategia que determina el accionar docente para el tratamiento coherente y sistemático de este proceso en la disciplina.

ABSTRACT

In the current conditions of the Cuban educational system, recognize environmental education for sustainable development as the main solution measure to address complex environmental problems from the focus on the different teaching disciplines that make up the plan of the teaching process of the initial training of teachers, it is very important for the preparation of students, however, this process shows deficiencies in the treatment in the discipline Economic and Social Geography. Taking into account the above criteria, the objective of the research is centered on: Elaborating a conception for the didactic treatment of the environmental education process for sustainable development in the Economic and Social Geography discipline in the Bachelor of Education: Geography career. The following are offered as results: the analysis of the theoretical foundations related to the treatment of the environmental education process for sustainable development in this discipline, the results of the diagnosis of how said treatment is in the Geography career, of the University of Pinar del Río, the systematization that is done to expose the elements to be taken into account for the treatment and the fundamentals, as well as to define the categories, principles and characteristics of the conception, which are specified in the three stages and fourteen actions of the strategy that determines the teaching actions for the coherent and systematic treatment of this process in the discipline.
