Overcoming tourism as a contribution to sustainable development

La superación económica y ambiental en el turismo como contribución al desarrollo sostenible

Keywords: advanced education, professional performance, pedagogy.

Abstract

The economic development of Cuba is dependent on the impetuous growth of tourism, an activity that brings benefits in capital and sources of employment, at the same time that it consumes energy and natural resources, which in the Sector Strategy until 2030 is considered as the main threat to sustainability. The environmental care requirements essential to be sustainable do not receive the same attention as comfort and safety by process managers in the tourism sector. Hence, overcoming tourism, the economy and the environment of human talent is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable development.
