Scientific-investigative activity in Higher Education in the Dominican Republic

Abstract

The article presents a study that deals with scientific-investigative activity in Higher Education in the Dominican Republic, in the context of current scientific-technological development. The objective is to base, from the referents of the development of science and technology, the importance of scientific-investigative activity in higher education in the country. The documentary source review methods, the analytical-synthetic and the systematization, are used for the study of authors and referents that contribute elements on the subject. In the results, we reflect on the need to introduce the scientific-investigative activity of Higher Education teachers in the Dominican Republic, as a response to the relevance of the University-Society interaction. In the conclusions, the essential aspects of the existing problems in the area of ​​scientific research as an activity of teachers in higher education in the Dominican Republic and the need for its incorporation in the context of scientific-technological development and the innovation, for the development of educational quality in the training of professionals in these institutions.
