Cultivating creativity with the use of scratch in primary education
Cultivando la creatividad con el empleo del Scratch en la educación primaria
Abstract
International organizations are committed to the promotion of creativity as part of inclusive, equitable, resilient development in Primary Education in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals. The use of video game engine Scratch is an option to achieve it and favor quality in learning. The research aims to propose alternatives for the development of creativity with the use of Scratchers in third and fourth grade students. Qualitative research based on a case study was used, with the use of methods: documentary analysis, participant observation, interviews, focus group. The results show how to use the Scratch as a didactic strategy to develop creativity through games, collaborative activities, ordering, creation of algorithms, instructions, realization of projects. Schoolchildren become greater independence, originality, flexibility, less inhibited, more critical and reflective, improvements in their communication and computer skills, in correspondence with their particular needs and interests.
