Abstract

In this article, a partial result of the author's master's thesis, the main theoretical bases that support motivation in the teaching-learning process of the Geography of Cuba are addressed. Based on the documentary study and the author's professional experience, essential aspects of the activities that can be used to achieve greater student motivation are systematized. That the student is motivated to receive the curricular content requires the teacher new ways and methods to ensure that he is motivated by the new teaching content, in this sense, educational institutions must contribute to the development of a teaching process that is convenient for them. Meaningful so that it can contribute to the integral formation of the student's personality, promoting the acquisition of new knowledge, the development of skills and value orientations, which are gradually reflected in their feelings, ways of thinking and behavior, in accordance with the value system of the Cuban Revolution, with emphasis on the formation of a patriotic, Martian, revolutionary, anti-imperialist, supportive and hard-working student. Geography is a fundamental discipline in teaching, due to the need to know the planet we live on, its nature and society. This science, given the complexity of its object of study, requires the integration of the natural and social aspects included in its object of study, which in their development are governed by their own laws. However, in reality, both are interrelated and integrated to form a whole that appears as such, anywhere on the planet.
