Abstract

Contemporary Cuban society imposes the need for a scientific pedagogy that investigates the historical roots and the contributions of its most outstanding personalities to education. Such is the case of Anisia Miranda Fernández (1932-2009). This Cuban teacher and journalist by training dedicated herself to children's and youth literature as a profession. Since the revolutionary triumph, intense work was incorporated into various projects that would adapt literature to the new circumstances that Cuba was experiencing. This writer published more than eighteen books on various topics and founded two periodical magazines for children and adolescents in which educational messages are transmitted. He received various recognitions, decorations and literary awards at the national and international level. The documentary analysis and the interview allowed us to deepen the content of each one of the works and to know the opinion of friends and co-workers of this writer. Due to her educational work and its scope, she is considered a social educator, heir to the most committed pedagogical thought with the Cuban revolutionary project.
