Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze the theoretical and methodological foundations that support the development of educational work in professional pedagogical training at the upper secondary level in Cuba. The results obtained from the study carried out in different sources of historical content, the application of the logical historical method and the realization of a periodization to understand the evolution of the studied object are revealed. It is evident that the development of educational work in professional pedagogical training in Cuba has evolved in correspondence with the socio-historical and cultural context, which is tempered with the demands of society on education, which expedites it as a process of
historical and cultural development. The valuable contributions of prestigious pedagogues are recognized, who today constitute foundations and necessary references to assist in current educational processes.
