Heritage education in an aboriginal archaeological context

Educación patrimonial en un contexto arqueológico aborigen

Abstract

Heritage education must begin to work from the first educational levels, where the child discovers and connects with the reality that surrounds him. The article presents the educational experience related to the Aboriginal archaeological heritage in two primary schools in the Río Cauto municipality, Granma province. The main objective was aimed at proposing heritage education activities designed for students in the 2nd cycle of Primary Education. Different theoretical and empirical methods were used to the theoretical-methodological references of the topic. In this way, the results not only focused on their cultural heritage, values, local history, but also on the development of a sense of belonging, identity and commitment to the protection and conservation of the historical cultural heritage of their community.
