Abstract

There is no doubt that knowledge of the history and evolution of a science is important for all those who, in one way or another, must use it as an instrument for their teaching activities. The History of Chemistry can and should serve as a work tool that the teacher of this science should use in the educational teaching process. In the Study Plan for the formation of Graduates in Education, in the specialty of Chemistry, the subject History of Chemistry is included in order to contribute to the formation of a general scientific culture and with a didactic approach in the students, who allows them to establish strategies in the teaching of science with a view to achieving a better understanding of the basic concepts of chemistry, greater motivation towards their study and in their future teaching work, at the middle and upper middle levels. In the present work, the teaching of the History of Chemistry is analyzed with a new perspective from bioethical education, necessary in the training of future professionals linked to chemical science. Therefore, the objective is to reveal the potentialities of the teaching of the History of Chemistry to contribute to the bioethical education of teachers in initial training.
