Abstract
This research is based on how mathematical modeling is a key tool for society and how much it would affect its poor performance by professionals in this area. The teaching method by project is also analyzed as an effective and practical educational technology to solve the problem posed. The objective is to analyze the use of project-based teaching as an educational technology to favor the teaching-learning process of mathematical optimization II in the third year of the mathematics career. For this, an analysis of the fundamental concepts of project-based teaching and educational technology is carried out. The main characteristics of the subject mathematical optimization II are also exposed and how this method will favor the teaching and learning process of optimization. As a result, it is shown that project-based teaching is an educational technology that can be implemented in the improvement of the teaching-learning process of mathematical optimization.
