Keywords: comprehensive training, teaching - methodological regulations, comprehensive approach, methodological work.

Abstract

The integral formation of the professional is a strategic objective of the Cuban state and higher education that is endorsed in the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba and the governing documents of the work of Cuban higher education. The objective of this article is to make a critical assessment of the expression of these ideas in a normative document of the MES that is very useful for higher education educators: the Methodological Teaching Regulation. The article reveals the broad potentialities of the document to guide educational work. But it also warns of some ambiguities and contradictions that can hamper the work of teachers. Finally, some recommendations are issued to contribute to its continuous improvement and successful application by pedagogical groups.
