Abstract

The aim of the article is to systematize the historical background of the first artistic trades, as well as the first schools that trained these trades that emerged in Cuba and Latin America, including vocational education, and to present some of the existing trade schools in Latin America that serve as a reference in the training of young people and adolescents of both sexes with an inclination toward art. This work presents the characteristics of some of these specialties, as well as historical highlights of the evolution of art trades in the Latin American region and its influence on cultural identity through vocational technical education.
