Abstract

The objective is to demonstrate education for the treatment of tobacco consumption in organic chemistry classes, based on the potential of its contents, supported by the pedagogical conception of health promotion and education. Participatory action research was applied using the following methods: bibliographic review, group interview with students and consultation with specialists who endorsed the results as satisfactory. This education can be developed by identifying the potentialities of the professional pedagogical process for addressing smoking, providing follow-up, and improving students' risk perception regarding the damage caused by carbon compounds present in tobacco combustion, which affects health and the environment.
