Resumen

En el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés, uno de los recursos más eficaces es emplear la tecnología que permita cumplir el objetivo propuesto, utilizada como herramienta de apoyo para la realización de actividades que requieren de la combinación y aplicación de estrategias y técnicas de aprendizaje y que fomenten la independencia cognoscitiva y la motivación de los estudiantes por aprender a aprender. Las actividades tienen en cuenta las características de los estudiantes y las posibilidades tecnológicas de la universidad. El presente artículo ofrece un análisis de las tareas docentes encaminadas a fomentar la autonomía, el desarrollo de habilidades lingüísticas y comunicativas así como reforzar contenidos en los Centros de Auto-aprendizaje y Servicios de Idiomas Extranjeros (CASIEs), lugares que contribuyen al aprendizaje autónomo.

ENGLISH CLASSES SUPPORTED BY TICS: CHALLENGES OF THE 21^st CENTURY FOR TEACHERS

In the process of teaching-learning of English, one of the most effective resources is to use the technology that allows to fulfill the proposed objective, used as a support tool for the realization of activities that require the combination and application of learning strategies and techniques and that promote the cognitive independence and motivation of students to learn to learn. The activities take into account the characteristics of the students and the technological possibilities of the university. This article offers an analysis of teaching tasks aimed at fostering autonomy, the development of language and communication skills as well as reinforcing content in Self-study Centers and Foreign Language Services (CASIEs), places that contribute to autonomous learning.
